This is the smallest section on the site and the one I am still building out. These seven tools are not about subject matter at all — they are about shape. An acrostic, a duet, a build-up, a thirty-second intro. They solve structural problems rather than emotional ones, which makes them useful in a different way from everything else here.
Three of them are new. If you use one and it does not do what you expected, tell me — this is the section where I take requests most seriously, because it is where the gaps are.
Free, no account, in the browser. Nothing here imitates a performer or stores existing lyrics.
Structure first
Constraints that generate ideas. Useful precisely because they take choices away from you.
Words without music
For pieces that are spoken, or that sit somewhere between speech and song.
For media
Short-form pieces with a hard time limit.
Using a constraint to get unstuck
Five ways to use structure as a way past a block.
- Pick the constraint before the subject. Choosing acrostic first and the subject second produces stranger, better material than the reverse.
- Let the form break your habits. If you always write four-line verses, force a duet; the shape will pull new phrasing out of you.
- Keep the parts that annoy you. Material generated under a constraint feels wrong at first because it is not your default — that is the useful part.
- Shorten it by a third. Every tool in this section over-produces, and all of these forms want to be shorter than you think.
- If it is for media, time it. Thirty seconds is much shorter than it feels when you are writing.
Why constraints beat inspiration
Every tool in this section works by removing choices, and that is the entire mechanism. A blank page offers you infinite options, which is why it produces nothing. An acrostic offers you one letter per line and you have written four lines before you have decided anything. The constraint is not a limitation on the song; it is the thing that gets the song started.
This is also why the output feels wrong at first. Material made under a constraint is not in your default voice, and your instinct will be to smooth it back into what you always write. Resist that for one draft. The awkward line is usually the one that would not have occurred to you otherwise, and that is the whole reason you came to this section.
None of them imitate named artists. Everything here is named after a style, a situation or a mood — never after a performer. If a result reminds you of somebody specific, that is coincidence, and you should rewrite the line before you record it.
SongTextAI is not a lyrics database. Nothing on this site stores, searches or displays existing song lyrics; every word you get back is generated on demand, for you, in that moment.
Output is machine writing. It can be wrong, clumsy, or accidentally close to something that already exists. Read it through before you publish or perform it.
Common questions
Why is this section so much smaller than the others?
Because I started with subjects and only got round to structure later. It is the section I am actively growing — requests here get built first.
Can I use the Acrostic tool for a name?
Yes, that is mostly what people use it for. Give it the name and a subject, and edit the lines that do not scan.
Is the Duet tool just two verses?
No. It writes two positions, which means they should disagree about something. Give it an actual argument and the tool becomes much better.
Can I use these for a client project?
Yes. Read the output through and edit it first, and note that purely AI-generated text is generally not copyright-protected. Disclaimer page.
How do I ask for a new tool?
Contact page. I add generators in batches and I do read the requests — several tools in this section exist because somebody asked.
